This was posted in weasel2000's a couple of days ago - I just haven't had the energy to post lately

Maj Olmsted was one of the early milbloggers. He was killed in Action last week and his "to be used in the event of my death" note was posted soon after. It's a moving commentary, comparable to Sullivan Ballou's Civil War letter (though Maj Olmsted uses a lot more Bab5 references - the 19th C was a bit unenlightened).

All that we are is the result of what we have thought, and he expressed some fine on ones. I hope that what we have done is worth this kind of coin.
